Allison joined Hanover in 2020, continuing our work in supporting exceptional technology entrepreneurs through investment and hands-on action. Allison began her career at Goldman Sachs and went on to lead teams across product, partnerships and operations at Facebook and VSCO. She holds an A.B. from Princeton University.
Allison draws on extensive experience building and leading high-performing teams to achieve challenging engineering and business goals. She helps executives build strong, multi-disciplinary software development organizations that deliver transformative products and grow them to high scale. Through a focus on data-driven prioritization and decision-making, she leads teams to deliver to spec, maximize customer impact, and achieve ambitious growth goals.
Allison led product at VSCO from 2018 to 2020, where she built and led teams across Product, Data Science, Research and Product Operations, including Customer Support and Trust and Safety. By implementing a data-driven approach to product strategy, her teams drove subscriber growth of 2.5x over two years to reach 2.5M paying subscribers with a renewal rate of over 60% in core markets. She oversaw the introduction of video to the VSCO platform and implemented critical growth tactics driving both new subscriptions and renewals.
Prior to joining VSCO, Allison served in a number of leadership roles across Facebook during critical phases of the company’s growth. Starting in 2016, she led Facebook Messenger growth teams, helping Messenger surpass one billion monthly active users. In her work on Messenger, Allison’s engineering teams effectively employed machine learning to develop highly personalized experiences that drove increased adoption, engagement and retention.
In 2013, Allison created Facebook’s first product team focused on public figures and content creators. She successfully introduced verification badges to the Facebook platform, launched a stand alone app for creators and created Facebook Live, which would eventually be rolled out to all Facebook users. She also led the engineering effort to use AI to intelligently rank content. She holds a number of patents related to her work in this space.
Prior to joining the product organization at Facebook, Allison led teams in partnerships and operations, developing global authenticity policies related to real name and real identity enforcement on the platform, and worked with media companies and public figures to build and leverage their presence on Facebook.
Allison began her career at Goldman Sachs in the Leveraged Finance group of Investment Banking. She supported public debt offerings in partnership with private equity sponsors across a spectrum of industries, including technology, consumer packaged goods, auto, retail and transportation.
Originally from Austin, Allison is a 2004 graduate of Princeton University. She lives in Dallas, Texas and focuses on companies across the U.S.
